WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) announced a $963 million allocation to Oklahoma in Fiscal Year 2025 to fund 12 formula programs that invest in the nation’s infrastructure, according to a release.
The release states the funds are allocated as being part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, passed by Congress in November 2021 and signed into law by President Joe Biden.
According to the release, investments from the Infrastructure Law will help create jobs building roads, bridges, and tunnel projects across all 50 States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – and chip away at infrastructure needs that have gone unaddressed due to a lack of funding.
As part of $62 billion allocated nationwide, the funding delivered to Oklahoma will provide transportation leaders the flexibility to continue rebuilding roads and bridges and making their transportation system more efficient reflecting the state’s particular needs, the release states.
