The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) today announced a nearly $13.8 million grant for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Porter Avenue Bridge Replacement Project, according to a release.
According to a release from the federal government, the Absentee-Shawnee Tribe (AST) of Oklahoma will receive the grant to replace the Porter Avenue Bridge, a structurally at-risk bridge that carries Porter Avenue over Little River in Norman.
The award follows a resolution passed in February by the Norman City Council in support of the project, according to a staff report to the council.
