Bridge dedicated in memory of fallen officer

Family and friends of a fallen McAlester Police Officer gathered Tuesday to honor the late officer during a bridge dedication held in Glenpool.

McAlester Police Department Patrolman Joseph Barlow was 26 years-old when he died on March 20, 2023, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa from injuries received in a head-on collision in Glenpool during an escort for fallen McAlester Police Capt. Richard Parker.

Several officers from the McAlester Police Department traveled to Tulsa on March 17, 2023, to escort Parker from the medical examiner’s office to a funeral home in Wetumka.
