OKLAHOMA CITY — Big changes are coming to a busy Oklahoma City bridge years after it partially collapsed.

In 2016, part of the May Avenue bridge over Northwest Expressway was knocked down after a truck hit it. The city of OKC is now in the planning phase to fix congestion in the area, but that could bring construction zones next year.

“We’re working on final plans which will be a diverging diamond," Debbie Miller, a city engineer, said. "It helps with the flow. It reduces the number of signals. It’s just a safer intersection."
