ENID, Okla. — Enid city commissioners heard an update on the $9 million rehabilitation project on North U.S. 81 being done by Oklahoma Department of Transportation during their study session Thursday, Sept 5, 2024.

The project extends from the Veterans Memorial Bridge, the overpass over the railroad tracks on North Van Buren, to Oklahoma 45 north of the city.

“It is a good project, but during construction it’s always painful,” City Manager Jerald Gilbert said.

In a presentation to commissioners in the study session, Jason Unruh, city of Enid engineer, said the project is about 33% complete, and the completion date will be sometime in February.
