State officials said they closely monitor workers on road jobs to make sure they get breaks when needed or if the point is reached where the work needs to stop. "If they’re taking a break and look like they’re not working, they’re taking a break so they can be refreshed and do a good job on the work they’re doing. I just want people to remember that," said Tara Henson, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's public information officer.
