GIANT cement joists shooting up from the ground have been left along a popular roadway as a massive highway project remains temporarily stalled.

Residents have called the paused construction project "traffic Stonehenge" as officials work through a significant backlog of approvals.

Oklahoma officials have been working toward finishing a towering highway project on I-44.

But the project has been stalled since 2023.

After building giant joists, officials said they had to clear several approval processes to continue the construction.

So, parts of the upcoming highway have remained untouched for months.

Existing roadways near the to-be-built highway were once constrained by condensed construction rules that imposed slower speeds.

Tracks left behind from giant bulldozers and dump trucks in excavated dirt have been replaced with luscious grass as the project temporarily stopped.
