DETROIT, MI — DTE Energy and Consumers Energy are set to join a first-of-its-kind pledge to make interstate travel more accessible for electric vehicle owners by 2022. DTE Energy and Consumers Energy announced in a news release Tuesday, Sept. 22, that they will join six energy providers in the construction of a network of fast-charging stations across the Midwest, from Michigan to Kansas, in an effort to allow electric vehicle owners to drive longer distances. Companies joining DTE Energy and Consumers Energy in the construction of the charging network include Ameren Missouri, Ameren Illinois, Oklahoma Gas and Energy, and Evergy, which covers parts of Missouri and Kansas.
