Forward 45 Elgin Public Meeting to make regional transportation plan

Elgin will be hosting a series of public meetings to discuss their plans to better transportation.

ELGIN, Okla. (KSWO) - Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) is hosting a series of public meetings to discuss development of the “Forward 45” Regional Transportation Plan.

The Forward 45 RTP is a comprehensive, 20-year strategic initiative designed to guide transportation decisions for all travel modes in southwest Oklahoma.

The plan addresses key issues such as transportation safety, system conditions, accessibility, quality of life, and environmental impacts, with the goal of creating an integrated and efficient transportation network for Southwest Oklahoma.

The initial meeting is set for December 5, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It will be held at Elgin Community Center, at 801 1st Street, Elgin, OK 73538.
