Northbound I-35 on- and off-ramps will be closed, and I-35 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane between SH-142 (mm 33) in Ardmore and SH-17A (mm 64) near Wynnewood from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and continuing daily through Thursday as part of a wrong-way detection system installation project.
Crews will work in segments and only have one on- and off-ramp closed at a time, using the following schedule:
Monday 5/6: Northbound I-35 at SH-142 (mm 33) in Ardmore and northbound I-35 at SH-53 (mm 42) near Springer

Wednesday 5/8: Northbound I-35 at US-77 (mm 51) north of Turner Falls and northbound I-35 at Ruppe Rd. (mm 60) near Wynnewood
Thursday 5/9: Northbound I-35 at SH-7 (mm 55) near Davis and northbound I-35 at SH-17A (mm 64) near Wynnewood
Drivers should use extra caution in these areas and expect delays during work.
The project will install wrong-way detection systems along the southern I-35 corridor between Cleveland County and the Oklahoma-Texas state line and is scheduled to be completed in late fall 2024. This project marks the fourth Oklahoma corridor to have wrong-way detection systems installed. Eastern I-40 was completed in 2022, northern I-35 was completed in 2023 and western I-40 is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
The more than $4 million project was awarded by the Transportation Commission to Action Safety Supply Co., LLC. in Nov. 2023.
