In OKC there are some awful sidewalks. But the city won't fix many of them, and here's why

While navigating all the orange cones, construction barricades and lane closures as Oklahoma City continues major road improvements, one may wonder, depending on where one lives, why their neighborhood sidewalks aren’t getting any attention.

For example, with missing chunks of concrete, grass popping up in places and sections uplifted to resemble little ramps, some sidewalks in the Paseo look as abstract as pieces sold in the district’s popular art galleries.

And they can be dangerous. Whether during a summertime stroll at night or a walk to the local market, broken sidewalks in the Paseo can lead to trips, spills and twisted ankles.
