(KTUL) — Starting this week, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) is kicking off two major projects on the Muskogee and Turner Turnpikes, bringing with them lane closures and potential delays.
The Muskogee Turnpike is set for a major overhaul. A $2.7 million project to rehabilitate a bridge over E. Davis Field Rd., south of Muskogee, is about to get underway. Motorists can expect some initial lane closures, and by early spring, both directions of the turnpike will be narrowed to a single lane, forcing drivers to navigate through a series of lane shifts as crews demolish the existing bridge.
