TULSA, Oklahoma - Drivers will soon see changes on a major highway construction project in West Tulsa. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said along with the Gilcrease Expressway project its other big projects are along the Inner Dispersal Loop near downtown and the I-44 and Highway 75 interchange.
"We're really excited to get some new pavement underneath drivers over there and I'm sure that anyone that uses 75 is excited for that as well. You know we've had a lot of potholes and cracks and that's why we wanted to get everybody on new pavement," said TJ Gerlach.
Gerlach with ODOT said drivers can expect to see lane changes and construction crews continuing work for the next year. He said luckily the project is on schedule and crews expect to finish by early 2023. Gerlach said the work on the IDL is another project that could see some changes soon. "Bridges at 11th and 8th street are currently being rehabbed and that phase one should be completed sometime in March," said Gerlach.
