MAPS 4 is adding $61 million of sidewalks across OKC. What to expect in 2025

The first phase of Oklahoma City’s MAPS 4 sidewalks projects, meant to spend $61 million toward increasing pedestrian connectivity throughout the city, is officially underway. 

The one-cent sales tax initiative under the MAPS 4 banner will be used to build three dozen sidewalks over the next year. The first five of 11 miles worth of sidewalks is already under construction in various parts of the city, with more being planned through 2031. 

City officials commemorated the much-needed installation of a sidewalk, funded through MAPS 4, off SW 36 and Shartel Avenue late last month.
