MARLOW — Modifications to speed limits will adjust for school zones in Marlow and highways from the “Y” intersection to Highway 29.
City Councilors discussed the resolution with Oklahoma Department of Transportation for speed limit modifications and City Administrator Jason McPherson said the resolution lists the school zone speed limit, but it covers the “Y” intersection and the changes to speeds, as well as for East 29.
McPherson said the City of Duncan accepted the change to the “Y” intersection and this is the next step for Marlow with ODOT.
For the school zone, McPherson said it will extend about a block to the south.
With the speed limits changing from east to west at the “Y” intersection between Duncan and Marlow, McPherson confirmed the speed will adjust from 50 mph, to 60 mph, to 70 mph. He said they will put 60 mph and 50 mph coming back in to Duncan and Marlow.
