The project spans over 120 miles, and state officials hope it will decrease the number of wrong-way drivers and crashes

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation approved a nearly $5 million contract to add warnings along Interstate 35 to prevent wrong-way drivers.
Flashing lights, more warning signs and pavement markings will be added to ramps across Oklahoma in hopes of keeping drivers from going the wrong way and causing deadly crashes on one of the state's major highways.
"Wrong-way collisions, especially on our interstate system, is something we've been concerned about for a while," Secretary of Transportation Tim Gatz said.
