ODOT eyes Washington, hopeful for new infrastructure deal

News Channel 8 Tulsa

By James King September 27, 2021 TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — As Congress delays a vote on the $1 trillion infrastructure bill, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation has its eyes on Washington. With the House vote pushed back over $110 billion designated for states’ roads and bridges now hangs in the balance. Secretary of Transportation and ODOT executive director, Tim Gatz, says once the bill is passed it could help expedite some of the major highway improvement projects here in Tulsa, like the work being done on the Inner Dispersal Loop, Highway 51, and U.S. 169. “It helps us move forward with those projects that are already priorities and have already been identified faster and get after them in maybe a more near term time frame,” said Gatz.
