ODOT aims to decrease congestion on I-75

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) began work on a new bridge on Interstate 75 so drivers can pass over 141st Street without stopping.

This project aims to increase safety while cutting down on congestion, according to ODOT.

“That intersection is a very busy intersection and that is the only one with a stop signal basically between Okmulgee and Bartlesville,” said ODOT spokesperson T.J. Gerlach. “You know, we have a little bit of collision history there so this bridge is going to be a major safety improvement.”

The project costs over $30 million, and it will include ramps, frontage roads and protected turnarounds, according to ODOT.
