LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Lawtonians have been vocal about 38th St. between Gore Blvd. and Lee Blvd. being a rough stretch of pavement to drive on and the city is taking action to refurbish it.
Public Works Director for the city Michael Watrous says they’ve heard the community’s concerns and now after getting a bid from City Council, they look to get started on the multi-stage project in the coming months.
“So 38th St. rehabilitation project is going to be done in four phases.” Watrous explained. “Obviously we know the quality of the road is not fantastic right now, we’ve known this for a while and it’s just been a matter of trying to get to it. We’re looking at doing this in four phases, so each phase is roughly a month and a half.”
