Senate committee approves bill for memorial bridge to honor fallen OKC officer

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Sen. Michael Brooks, D-Oklahoma City, announced that he has received committee approval for legislation honoring Sgt. Meagan Burke.

Sgt. Burke was an Oklahoma City police officer who was killed in an on-duty, head-on crash with an impaired driver on I-44 in September of 2022.

Senate Bill 1584 was approved by the Senate Aeronautics and Transportation Committee on Tuesday and would name a bridge in Burke's memory.
