Traffic will be driving on the newly constructed State Highway 20 that’s realigned over Keetonville Hill on Thursday, weather permitting.
Traffic will be redirected to the new alignment starting at 9 a.m., with everyone driving on the new road by noon, Oklahoma Department of Transportation Public Information Officer T.J. Gerlach said.
“Remaining work includes connecting a few side roads, completing portions of the project that overlap the old alignment, and finishing tie-ins to existing SH-20 at the east and west ends,” Gerlach said. “The project should reach final completion by the end of the year.”
Although there won’t be a final cost until everything is completed, Gerlach said the project, for which $44 million was awarded, has cost $36.8 million.
