OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A sizable and growing sinkhole caused quite a bit of damage to a portion of Reno Avenue over the weekend, leaving neighbors and the city wondering what exactly caused it to form.

Neighbors tell News 4 they first noticed the sinkhole on Saturday, which is about 13 feet in length, along Reno Avenue just west of Cemetery Road.

“Sinkholes are scary, man,” said Brad Morris, who lives in a home near the sinkhole. “They just kind of pop up out of nowhere.”

Morris said he and his neighbors watched as the hole got bigger throughout the day on Saturday.

“It looked really big,” Morris said. “About five or six feet across.”
