Gov. Kevin Stitt has set dates for special elections to fill the Oklahoma Senate seat that will be vacated by U.S. Rep.-elect Stephanie Bice. Due to her 5th Congressional District victory over one-term Democratic U.S. Rep. Kendra Horn, Bice will vacate the state Senate seat she has occupied since she was first elected in 2014. Bice, a Republican, represents Senate District 22, which includes parts of northern Oklahoma County, eastern Canadian County, Edmond and Yukon. In an executive proclamation issued Monday, Stitt set Feb. 9, 2021 as the date for the special primary election and April 6, 2021 for the special general election. If a primary election is not necessary, the general election will occur Feb. 9, 2021.
