Press Release
August 14, 2024
Work begins Monday, Aug. 19, on a more than $31 million bridge construction project on US-75 at 141st St. in Glenpool. The project will include construction of a new bridge over 141st St. with ramps, frontage roads and protected turnarounds at the intersection. Three existing median openings will be closed between 136th St. and 146th St. to enhance safety of the corridor. The goal of the project is to increase safety and minimize localized congestion.
Drivers should be aware of narrowed and shifted driving lanes and a reduced speed limit in the work zone during the project. Two lanes of traffic will be open in each direction on US-75 during peak travel times throughout construction. Access to businesses and private properties will be maintained during and after construction.
The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded the contract for this project to Sherwood Construction Inc. in April 2024. The overall project is expected to be complete in summer 2025, weather permitting.
